Manubrio

Embodied-oriented feedback-based digital instrument

Manubrio is a digital musical instrument designed to investigate embodied musical interaction. The instrument explores how continuous bodily engagement and feedback-based sound generation can support the incorporation of a digital interface into the performer’s bodily awareness.

Manubrio combines a portable, three-degree-of-freedom handlebar interface with a feedback-based oscillator and FM synthesis that allows controlled positive feedback.

I performed an experiment to investigate the emergence of embodied interaction and presented a paper about it at the NIME 2026 conference.
